MARIN MT VISION 5.7 2010 £1,999 £100 OFF NOW £1,899

This bike shares the same new light weight frame as the Mount Vision 5.8. It uses Rock Shox Reba SL forks with a 20mm Maxlelite and so has an even stiffer point and go ride than the bike with a Fox Forx.

This may cost less than the 5.8 but there is no loss if performance.

Whilst all the talk is about trail bikes there are still a large number of riders for whom speed, light weight and climbing is what mountain bikes and mountainbiking is all about. Maybe you race, maybe not, this bike will get you there really fast.

The Bobcat Trail is a serious off road bike. It shares the same frame as the higher prcied models and you will feel the difference even just riding round the block: fast, easy to pedal and light.

Hydraulic disc brakes are more powerfull but the real benefit to you is the added sense of security down hill. As you can slow down with only one or two fingers your grip is more relaxed on the handlebars, a more relaxed grip means that you get less shaken by the trail. This will mean that you will be more confident and that makes the whole off road experience a lot of fun.

MARIN BOLINAS RIDGE £449

The Marin Bolinas Ridge is light and ready to take you for an off road adventure. The cable disc brakes will give to consistant braking rain or shine and will allow you to ride in muddy conditions with your V brakes clogging up. Better brakes make you feel safer.

MARIN SHORELINE TRAIL £349

Although this may look like a budget price, the Shoreline Trail replaces the Pioneer Trail for 2010 and is still probably the lightest mountain bike in its class. Don't be fooled by the spec. this bike likes its predecessor is all that you need to get started on the trails.
